At the present, I am still setting up to start the business in early January 2008. This is going to be a great venture into the unknown to me, as I have only recently started building, and have only been doing in-person professions on SL so far (wedding officiant and event/Slingo hosting).
Finicky Feline Furniture was created at first as a result of frustration. I have many Nekos in my family, a number of whom are more the “domesticated” variety… they love pretty things, they tend to like the more classic furniture, and are not into the Neko furniture that I found out there. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Neko furniture out there IS well-made, and some of it is VERY intriguing, and I plan on getting some of it for the Nekos in my family that will love it:) But after searching for hours for something special for my youngest daughter, who is a shapeshifter who loves her round cat bed that her dad made her, I realized there is very little out there for the kitty who loves plush carpet, scratching posts, snuggly beds, and everything that the RL indoor kitty wants and loves! So, I went to a sandbox…. and made my first cat tree, the Cat Condo. After my friends who didn’t build said “Oooo! That looks good!”, and my friends that build said “It’s great, but isn’t it a bit crooked?!?!” *laughs*, I started experimenting and researching RL designs to get my creative juices flowing… and the rest is history:).
The original name I came up with was “Indoor Kitty Furniture”, but a friend of mine thought “Finicky Feline” would be better… good thing I have friends with better concepts on names!
I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them… I am currently working with someone for animated poses to compliment the furniture, so hang in there with me, and if you have suggestions or comments, PLEASE feel free to ask away!
